![]() Another great side dish is the Cellar’s take on Duckworth’s Fresh Cut Fries: Truffle Hand Cut Fries with a Malt Vinegar Aioli dipping sauce and parmesan cheese. CELLAR AT DUCKWORTH MACAnother favorite is the 32oz Tomahawk Ribeye cooked in a 1800 degree Broiler- WOW!!! The menu also includes Truffle Mac and Cheese, Charcuterie boards, Espresso Rubbed Carpaccio Lamb Tenderloin, Smoked Salmon Flatbread, Broiled Lamb Chops, and Corn Flake crusted French Toast. One of the highlights is the Taco Plate with a Braised Chicken Taco, a Pork Belly Taco, and an Octopus Taco. We hired an amazing Executive Chef, Fred Quinnones to write the menu for the gastropub. ![]() I am ecstatic to unveil our menu to Charlotte and the rest of the foodie nation. So the anchor to the gastropub is the food menu. ![]() CELLAR AT DUCKWORTH FREEOur service staff will keep with the prohibition-era speakeasy theme we will all be decked out in some 1920’s type clothing, suspenders and all! Feel free to get dressed up if you want to, but please, leave your Tommy Gun at home. When Rob Duckworth asked me who I would want to be my Assistant General Manager, without hesitation I chose Drew as he and I have worked well together for about 4 years and I know that he will bring the same passion to each shift that I do. Our Service Manager is Andrew Hayes, who many of you know from his bartending days at our Huntersville location and several other popular concepts in the Charlotte area. We have invited a couple of the most talented servers from the Duckworth’s location as well hand-picking the rest of the staff from around Charlotte’s best restaurants. We will be offering fine dining food in a comfortable setting where you don’t have to get dressed up, with top-notch service. Photo credit Wendy Raymond at Taps & Snaps ( note from Cat-I recommend the East Village) I will recommend The Asian Pear or the Morning Flip as they have been my two favorites so far. I strongly encourage you to read the descriptions of the cocktails on the iPad and choose for yourself which one sounds like you. Ron, and now the rest of us at the Cellar, understand some craft cocktails. Tasty, tasty, research! I have enjoyed the cocktails that Ron has created more than any we tried in New York. Rob Duckworth took us up there for research. Six of us went to New York City and tried cocktails all over the city- this was not as terrible as it sounds. Ron has spent many hours mixing cocktails for us to try this is a tough job, but we can suffer through the sampling of these tasty drinks. The man behind the cocktails is Ron Oleksa. This is a trend that has been catching on in Charlotte, Asheville, Atlanta, and larger southern towns over the past couple of years. One of the most exciting ventures in the new concept is the addition of craft cocktails. We will also be offering some really great wines by the glass as well as by the bottle. We are also focusing on a large bottle selection (for consumption onsite or to take home) in the namesake “Cellar” that will be introduced at a later date. In addition to the draft beer there will be canned mostly local craft beers available. ![]() Anyone who is familiar with the Duckworth’s brand will know the only thing modest about the beer wall is the number of taps. The Cellar will contain a modest twenty select taps and a beer engine for cask beers. The Cellar at Duckworth’s is opening to the public July 20th as a gastropub with a beer obsession. I am confident The Cellar will change the dynamic of what we think of as a beer-centric restaurant in the Southeast. It has been really cool to see the progression from week to week as we develop this super restaurant. While that is an exaggeration, I am surrounded by some extremely talented people. This is quite possibly the most brain power in one room since Thomas Jefferson dined alone. Every Wednesday a group of eight experts in their individual fields all met to sculpt this concept. I am the General Manager of this new concept and I want to share my experience of the development and progression of this restaurant. I don’t normally talk about my own career in a public forum, but to answer all of the questions that I have had from so many people, I will. The most recent location boasts 151 Craft Beer on tap and 170 flat screen TVs! There is also a 55″ iPad mounted to the wall for your beer menu browsing while you wait for a table. ![]() There are now five locations in and around the Charlotte area. If you are familiar with Charlotte and/or craft beer, you are surely aware of Duckworth’s Grill and Tap House. ![]() ![]() That served as a lesson that there are no absolutes.nothing in life is "forever".you may think that since you know the people around you, it's fine to trust implicitly and love completely, but.look again, they may be wearing a mask. However, I see now that maybe I didn't know him like I thought I did. I tried getting angry, blaming him and then myself, I questioned, analyzed and even cried.ĭo I have an answer as to why it happened? No. I tried desperately to get over that blow. He just said, I don't have the time or the inclination for explanations. As my mouth flapped open and shut like a fish out of water, I asked if something had gone wrong. I believed that I knew him.we were "friends".it had to be a misunderstanding created by my overactive imagination.īut, he unflinchingly said, that he had a life with no room for me. I didn't blame or demand to know anything.I was just trying to understand. I began to feel that I was an outsider to his life, and so tried talking to him. And it's me, so I never got a hint.Ī friend with whom I share the best memories, suddenly gave me my rudest shock. I could never imagine my friends keeping me separate from their lives. It wasn't even an expectation, it was just a presumption. I had a close friend circle of maybe 8-10 friends, and though I was brutally honest with all of them, I loved and cherished each one, no matter how far or close to them, I was.īecause I gave my all, I somehow thought I got the same. I understand that though we meet people everyday of our lives, some nod "hello" and move on and out of our lives whereas some say "hello" and stay on. I don't make friends with strangers anymore, but I still care and trust too much.too easily and too soon. Now, I've grown up, but I still haven't learnt. I wore my heart on my sleeve and was taken for a ride from early on.īut with the optimism of a child, who doesn't know otherwise, I'd still march up to people, introduce myself and become "best friends." But then.I was a child. Though my parents accepted this, my mother always warned me that I cared and trusted too much.too easily and too soon. Nothing, anyone said or did, changed the fact that, life for me, centered around my friends. "A social butterfly" according to my teachers. It's an understatement to say that I'm a people's person.Īs a child, my social life was more active than that of my parents. Now the tunnel is up the remote network web interfaces are available to your browser by their private ip addresses. Now back in the browser go to again and this time it will display the broadcast public ip address of the remote network where the Linux server is and this confirms the tunnel is working. Click OK to save the settings change and close out of the preferences menu.Ħ. In the proxy servers menu you will need to configure the SOCKS server using ip address 127.0.0.1 and the port you used above in step 2, so in my case it is 8080. Now, let’s start browsing the web using with your new SSH Tunnel (Chrome): Open Google Chrome. In the preferences menu go to the network options, then look for a “Proxy Servers” setting button.ĥ. Again I am using Opera for this example but you could use any browser, Chrome, Firefox, etc.Ĥ. The next step is to configure a web browser to use the remote Linux server as a SOCKS proxy so to do this open your web browser and enter the preferences menu. ssh -N -D 8080 you enter in your password the prompt will just sit there and not do anything, don’t worry that is what its supposed to do. Also this “open failed: connect failed: Connection timed out” error may show up which is normal and expected, just continue to the next step.ģ. This example is using port 22 to SSH into the server but you could use the “-p” option to specify any port for SSH. Tunnels are managed within groups, if you only need one tunnel then the ssh command is probably. Once you have that use the following command from the terminal, ssh -N – D or hostname”. NodeJS based applicaton for easy managing SSH tunnels. You will need the hostname or ip address, username and password for your remote Linux server. Now that we have a baseline it is time to establish the SSH tunnel with your server. #Mac ssh tunnel manager how to#Next how to get an SSH tunnel setup using the built-in Mac terminal CLI.Ģ. Go to which will display the public ip address your computer is broadcasting on the internet. Start by opening up a web browser, I chose to use Opera for this test. Before we do anything let’s get a baseline and see what our public ip address is. #Mac ssh tunnel manager for mac#Well that is also just as easy, I documented step by step instructions for Mac users to establish a SSH tunnel between Mac OS X and a remote Linux server.ġ.
